Bob has occasionally been compelled to write what he can only think of as poetry. Evidently when this happens it can’t be stopped. He mostly doesn’t know where it comes from. He says that shortly after returning from Japan, while driving to work, he saw shadows in the road ahead and a Haiku popped into his head. He was astonished that this happened at all let alone that it turned out to have exactly 5-7-5 syllables. It goes to show that we are more than we imagine ourselves to be and, for better or worse, don’t have a lot of control over what pops out of us. – ed.
